Lest I repeat myself…

January 31, 2014

harumph.

i can’t seem to keep up with all of these social media outlets, blogs, doo-dads and so on and so forth and all that jazz.

i mean really…i confess…  i get more and more tired of facebook, twitter, and yet.  Oh yes, and yet… I can’t… seem… to… pull…myself… away sometimes.  it drives me bonkers.  and there’s only so much self-flagellation i can take, ya know?  anyhoo…sometimes i just don’t feel like i have anything in particular to say.  save the “humble brag” about a gig here, an audition there.  and so what?  indeed.

it’s one month into 2014.  and what of it?  dunno yet.  i suspect i’m not alone when i say (or fret?):  what on earth is in store… next?  haven’t a clue. i have zero idea.  and i’m trying to get cozy in this deceptive void where i know — deep down — is exactly the place everything is possible.

(*tipping my proverbial hat to robert & michelle colt right now)

and lest i repeat myself, it is only 1 month into the new year.  considering that fact, there’ve already been some lovely experiences, some measurable growth, exciting opportunities, close-but-no-cigar moments, and even a couple “victories” thrown in for good measure.

sure i caught that nasty bug going around.  but these things are temporary!  only minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things.

lest i repeat myself and lest i forget… what i’ve got here…  it’s more than enough.

i mean, who could ask for anything more than…   to be alive.

(*tipping the hat again to my trusted friend darrell calkins. ooooooh, how i’m looking forward to meeting him & our friends in the wilderness again soon!)

Ramblings…

November 13, 2013

Hello friends.

I realized it’d been a little while since I last posted, so I thought I’d briefly do a little catch up now.

In Passing continues to entertain crowds internationally.  We just screened at the Asiana International Short Film Festival in Seoul, Korea.  Alas, I could not be there.  Considering I have a recurring dream that involves either landing at or taking off from the Seoul airport, it might have been a nice trip to take if someone had offered me the ticket.  Next time!

I’ve been recording more national radio spots for GAP — for their Fall/Holiday Friends Event.  And the Black Friday spots are ready to air in a couple weeks.  And who knows if there’ll be more in store for the December portion of the Holiday Season.

I also narrated a really cool informercial for EVERDEEP skincare.  The show is hosted by the gorgeous & brainy Jennifer Beals.  She sold me on this product, that’s for sure!

I got to perform to a wonderful crowd in the world premiere production of Marthe Rachel Gold’s LAKE ANNE, directed by multi-Emmy winner John Frank Levey at The Road Theatre Company.  So much fun to dive in with this wonderfully talented cast.

Gee… What else?  I’ve got a couple projects in the works that are hush-hush until further notice.  I hope to be able to share a lot more about them in the coming months!

Just in case I don’t get around to posting in the next several weeks, I wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, HAPPY CHANUKAH, MERRY CHRISTMAS, and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Health.  Joy.  Peace.  Love.  To you & yours.

IN PASSING Behind the Scenes – more stunt & flying pix!

August 17, 2012

If you haven’t been following my posts on Twitter or Facebook, check out director Alan Miller’s awesome Kickstarter campaign here.

And here are some more pix from our prep for IN PASSING, including some more rehearsals for my co-star David Trice and I in the harness. Plus flying lessons at iFly!

By the way, the picture of me doing my silly version of a rocker pose?  That took place right after finding out that the harness I was wearing would be used by PINK the next day for her music video shoot.  For reals!

Tomorrow we do the Test Shoot at Stunt Lab!

Yeah… we’re having some fun.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night…

June 27, 2011

Good lord, I feel like a broken record when I say — once again — where, oh where, has the time gone?

See, I normally would have done this update a wee bit sooner.  Like, um…before opening night?  Onward!

I am part of Rogue Machine’s astounding production of David Harrower’s BLACKBIRD, which has been filling the house since opening on June 10th, and receiving enthusiastic responses.

Ovation Recommended!

LA Times Critics’ Choice

And no wonder.  Mr. Harrower has written a doozy of a story here.  And the two lead actors – Sam Anderson & Corryn Cummins – are fantastic in their demanding roles.  Under the guidance of director Robin Larsen…how could this not be a winner?

As for myself…I am playing an offstage role (literally) in the play.  It has provided a unique opportunity to work with these fabulous people.  And I am most glad to be a part of it.

Plays through July 25th.  5pm on Saturdays & Sundays; 8pm on Mondays

Get tickets here.
